The Louisiana Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA LA) received a pilot grant from CPC LDC in July of 2011, in the amount of $500 for purpose of testing the effectiveness of a sponsorship/exhibit fee at an allied organization conference/event for the purpose of Chapter and APA membership promotion/expansion, interaction/training and networking. The APA LA investigated various allied organizations within the State of Louisiana that had the greatest potential for networking opportunities with elected officials and key government appointees that would be interested in training for planning commissioners and boards of adjustments.  The fruits of this research resulted in the APA LA selecting the 2011 (74th) Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA) Annual Convention for a sponsorship or exhibit.
